Employee Story: Momčilo Bojinović – Project Manager, NITES Telco Solutions

October 20, 2025

A senior member of our team in Banja Luka and a seasoned Telco professional, Momčilo joined NITES Group in his 30s and went through a career turnaround, by becoming not only an expert in telecommunications, but also an advanced project manager and team lead. How did Momčilo take the career opportunities and what did NITES provide to him to keep the thriving professional relationship last for 11 years already? Read his story.

Can you briefly describe what you do and what a typical workday looks like?
I am Project Manager and Team Lead in the Telco division. Right now, our main focus is developing, integrating, and maintaining telco systems in Banja Luka.

No two workdays are quite the same – they are very different in intensity and the tasks we handle. But if I had to describe a “typical” day, mornings are usually for internal communication, team meetings, and coordination. After that comes client correspondence, planning, and checking deadlines. At the same time, there’s also communication with our partner companies.

I like to dedicate the end of the day to tasks that require deep focus, such as developing new opportunities, analyzing plans and products, and strategic planning.

How long have you been with the company, and what won you over at the start?
I’ve been with NITES since 2014. From day one, the leadership in Banja Luka was transparent and clear about their expectations. They supported my professional growth and helped shape the direction of my career in IT.

The working conditions, compensation, and respect for employees were far ahead of the competition – a huge plus for NITES. I was also lucky to start out with a fantastic team – great people and IT professionals who taught me a lot and were patient during my early months here. That mix of mentorship, environment, and opportunity helped me find my place in both NITES and the IT world.

What are the biggest challenges in your role, and how do you overcome them?
There are internal and external challenges.

Internal ones are usually related to daily team organization and optimization, tracking deadlines, quality control, and overcoming various administrative or operational hurdles.

External challenges mostly come from working with ten different partner companies, each with their own ways of working and organizational styles. There’s also the client side – Mtel is a complex organization with many divisions and users who often have very different priorities and requirements.

How would you describe the atmosphere in your team, and what do you like most about it?

I’d say the team atmosphere is excellent. And yes, I know – that’s exactly what every Team Lead says. But really, the team I lead at NITES is mostly made up of people who’ve been here for 10+ years, and they’ve found a great balance between personal and professional cooperation. We make an effort to keep things positive, to learn from one another, and to respect each other’s time and knowledge. You can see that approach – and the synergy it creates – reflected in our results.

How does NITES help you grow, both professionally and personally?
Professional development at NITES really starts with the people. From day one, I’ve had guidance and support from colleagues and managers who encouraged learning, responsibility, and initiative. That helped shape me professionally – even though I joined NITES already in my 30s, with a university degree and years of experience.

The second big factor is the complexity of our projects. We’ve always worked with advanced technologies and solutions from world-renowned vendors.

And maybe most importantly – the positive atmosphere in the company. NITES has a human and transparent approach that mitigates a lot of the usual workplace stress. In that kind of environment, you can really focus on your work and personal growth instead of wasting energy on unproductive things like gossip or conflict. I just wish more people, especially younger ones, understood how crucial a positive environment is for long-term career and mental health.

Have you taken on any new roles or challenges at NITES that were particularly meaningful to you?

Definitely. The most significant one was becoming a Team Lead in the Telco team. That step came with a lot more responsibility and gave me a deeper understanding of how the team and the company as a whole operate.

Another important milestone was when I independently led the creation and implementation of a module in Mtel’s ecosystem. That’s when I realized I’d truly found my long-term career path.

Which initiatives or benefits mean the most to you when it comes to work-life balance?
For me, the most important thing is NITES’ human and rational approach to each individual. Everything else – benefits, flexibility, and initiatives – stems from that.

I really value flexible start times and the option to work from home. I’d also like to highlight the company-wide medical checkup initiative we had in Banja Luka – it was a great example of how much NITES cares about employee well-being.

How does the company respond when employees have side projects or hobbies outside of work?

My experience has been very positive. My colleagues and managers have supported my involvement in the local community – I currently chair the Supervisory Board of a city-owned company. We’ve also been encouraged to take part in sports events, like races and business leagues.

What’s your favorite part of your job or your team?

What I enjoy most is working on new projects with new partners – tackling new challenges. I’d love to see our Telco team grow even stronger and bring our solutions and approach to new markets.

What keeps you motivated day to day?

Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and prove yourself. What drives me most is the satisfaction of successfully completed projects. Our team is building a winning mindset, and that confidence keeps us moving forward.

What do you see as NITES’ key directions in the coming years?
In the years ahead, I see NITES as a stable company that continues to grow technologically, operationally, and financially. I expect we’ll expand our teams across all verticals, deepen our partnerships, and enter new markets.

Why do you think NITES is the right place for someone who wants to grow and do meaningful work?

It might sound like a cliché, but at NITES, you’re not just a number. Everyone has their own path, goals, and potential – and NITES gives you the space to realize it. We work on real projects that directly impact our communities – from energy companies to telecom operators and healthcare systems. We’re not building imaginary products for faraway clients; we see the results of our work every day, whether it’s an electricity reading, a phone bill, or an electronic prescription.
